what track did he just add a hi hat to?

What he is trying to say is that he doesn't want Crush, Time of Our Lives, Nothing But You, etc... on the cd. PVD's reworks of other peoples songs aren't as monotonous and similarly toned. On TPOD Autumn, Vega and Out There were his only originally produced tracks and they weren't overplayed out in the same manner We're Alive, Pikes, Another Way, etc... were at the time. I love PVD, but I'm sick of the same sound to his production work. At least reworks are different synth lines altogether. It creates a more varied feel even though he is remixing all the tracks. Some of his remixing on TPOD is very subtle and minimal.

i think its just to make the whole thing fit on a cd ... and you have to agree as a package the whole thing the first time around just fitted together really well. He even mentions that he doesnt want to change things too much, because its all about the original track... theres plenty of the reworks from TPOD that hes never actually played in his sets, and were just for the CD.

Agreed completely. Autumn never released, sadly enough. That's what made it great on that set. The remixes, although subtle at times, made everything fit together better. I will be very happy if he comes out with another one and it's not all the Reflections crap (don't get me wrong, I like the original track and own many of them, but they have been driven into the ground). I refuse to play any of those tracks anymore, because there is nothing unique about playing them and you don't differentiate yourself at all. If he brings something fresh to the table, like the original did, I will be enthused. He may gain some more respect back from me as well. I just don't appreciate his live sets or his production work from the last 2-3 years, as much as I do his work prior to that.

I hope its something good... I think it will be, simply because of the state of 'trance' music at the minute - hes not going to pack 2 cds full of substandard 'trance' when there is so much good techno stuff around now, and ive seen recently that hes moving back towards the kind of timo maas, pascal feos type of sound...

anyway, that nell guy seems to have in his head the mental idea that the only reason pvd reworks tracks is to try and get some sort of reflected glory from the original track. I'd like to point out that the only people in the world who actually give a shit about 'PvD reworks' are obsessed fans on here and similar forums, and i doubt very much that PvD gives a shit about what they think, or is searching for their approval.

For the most part the remixing wasn't the crowning achievement of the set. It was the track selection and flow, which was effected by his remixing, but I don't think his intent was to showcase remixing. He barely remixed them.

Yeah its such a shame he didnt release a ltd edition vinyl series with the reworks of Vega & Autumn. The remix/redit/whatever you wanna call it is luscious tranced out bliss at its finest!
His productions are a bit lazy, using that same bloddy kick sound for everything and Reflections was a poor, poor album. But then again, who of us is filling clubs around the world with people demanding to see us........

although i do like and enjoy tpod, it is a great album but it was hardly as massive and revolutionary and some people seem to think. Nell was right the amount he changes some tracks is ridiculously small. Hell i even know 2 amateur dj's who edit tracks to make them fit their style and sets better.
