heh, it is rather interesting.
Its a fact that Bush appeals to farmers, ranchers, and your average rural american, which as most of you hopefully know, is the majority of the united states. I live in texas and I meet these people every single day. Their lives are simple, they dont ask for much, most have never have left the country, have no real economic interest, and are very patriotic. Bush IS their ideal leader. Its the same across rural america, not just texas.
But unfortunately it is ALSO a fact (not a stereotype), that more than half of them cant find Israel or Iran on a map, and still dont really know what the hell the taliban is, or what the purpose of the WTC's were. But these facts are useless to them anyway. All they know is they've been attacked, and feel threatened.
I'm not putting down rural bush supporters in any manner. Thats really just who the majority is. Their lives are comfortable to them, and if they feel they are threatened, I assure you theyre not going to vote for some well educated wealthy yankee. It REALLY does boil down to just that, and that is pretty much why bush won, he appeals to rural america, which is the majority.
The fact is all our politicians, generally have the same goal. And because of this fact, voter decisions are usually made on some of the most simplest grounds, (candidate ethics, lifestyle, background, morals) its just not heated complex politics like in many foreign countries.
