I'm very embarassed to say this but I actually work for Wal-Mart as of now and have been working for them for a year now... i have to say it's most definetly one of the worst jobs that i've had.. sure they have great benifits an what not but man.. They dont give two sh^ts about their employees although it's in their "policy" to care.. everyday I dread going into work, and wish there was more jobs round here to work.. All they do is try to put other businesses out of business, by the "we less for less" ya thats sh^t.... their products suck, even the name brands suck... I actually plan to boycott this company as soon as i get myself something deserving of my time and energy..

It is possible that the subjects he protests are not that detrimental to some. But our perception of what is dire in the world varies individually.

To dismiss a great man who has opened the eyes of so many people is a little ignorant.

Marshall Mcluhan, who's theories were dismissed by many academics and are now celebrated world-wide. is he all talk?

The thing is I'm overall a business student - and at the end of the day i'll be a part of these corporations, either leading, working, or starting one...so don't piss on my parade ahahhahaha


The thing is - everyone's bashing corporations but in reality it's the people that running them that you should bash. The thing is, nobody who is against the corporations is suggesting anything better cuase there isn't much really. That's the way of the free markets after all

It's a really tough "game" and it's ugly and it's cruel but it can also be fun and very rewarding. It's the individual moral values that should be there Corporations on their own aren't bad - just the people leading them. There's plenty of good ones too it's just the disasterous always make it to the news pages

He uses flowery language and big words to convey absolutely NOTHING original - every single one of his "arguments" is a watered-down, poorly structured ersatz version of a much more profound argument put forth by historical philosophers.

Chomsky doesn't deserve 1% of the respect he gets. His writing stinks of the blind and skewed extreme-left, burgeoise-resenting, anticapitalist and anti-intellectual hate spewed by every other quasi-Communist out there. His sole achievement is using his skills as a "linguist" to use the right buzz words to make his arguments look established and well-researched. I don't think he's produced anything that isn't either deeply flawed at a fundamental level or drawing on innumerable fallacies to reach his conclusions.

Do yourselves a favour and put down that rag written by him and start using the pages as toilet paper.

While I never read the guy all I see here is you putting him down because you say he isn't original and he tries to prove a point. Hell, you're doing the same thing so should wipe my ass with what you wrote, just because you're not the first to put him down?

Wal-Mart has done more for the people of this earth than the Pyramids ever have.

The pyramids represent the enslavement of man to serve the ends of the Pharoas. People dying in the desert, lugging massive blocks across the Nile, building these large pointless structures, simply to serve the whims of some king with some mystic connection with the "gods."

Wal-mart represents the success of capitalism and it's ability to serve the needs of all men. Wal-mart provides good products and services at lower prices to more people than any other statist-collectivist-distribution scheme concocted by any government. Not only that, but Wal-Mart provides a means to getting those goods and services as well, namely..jobs.

So, while the pyrimids represent the evil of using other men (as slaves) as a means to an end, Wal-mart represents productivity and freedom. People choose to shop at wal-mart, they choose to work at wal-mart, and they benefit from the jobs and the products while the owners, proprietors, executives, shareholders and stakeholders benefit from the profits.

Wal-Mart>Pyramids.

He is an academic. Period. FOR him to get published he MUST have PEERS review the work. I'm guessing they are peers of the subject that he is talking of. If what he was doing was not considered backed up with real facts and well proven points it would have been a lot more difficult for him to be published inside the walls of academia no?
As for him not using facts, plz explain this if he has references in his books? Are you disputing those references?


As for fucking Walmart putting up a store near the Mexican Pyramids...WTF IS THIS WORLD COMING TO? That's the equivalent of McDonalds putting up a franchise INSIDE the Pyramids of Gaza.
