I'm assuming you have chosen the absolute best record to mix in and still have 5 minutes to go (rare IMO) but ok....
- Find another record/cd which will mix in well, put it on the 3rd deck, beat match, overlay it over the running track, first with no bass, then cut bass back and forth (if its in the same key this will sound perfect). Possiblities are endless, just don't overdo it I guess
- Do tricks on current turntable, with house/prog you can do stop/start turntable, power off power on (you probably need to practice this at home otherwise it can sound like ass) - if you do it right it can really turn peoples heads and trick them into thinking you really know what you are doing..heheh
- Bass cuts/mid cuts etc....use sparingly for effect
By this time it should be 2 minutes to go and you can start mixing in. You should never really have time to do anything else unless you are doing end to end mixing which isn't really using your skills to the full potential!
