Hey, I just ran through your mix and I think you've got a good start here. Keep in mind I am not nearly as professional or experienced as Dave is, having heard some of the mixes he's posted and the knowledge he's displayed on the forums, plus there were a few tracks I wasn't too familiar with and may like after hearing them again. I will honestly say that you should give it a few more tries before giving out demos to clubs or promoters, but I do think I prefer your mix to quite a few openers I've seen, as I like a number of your tracks and you have several really good transitions, not to mention your noticibly-off transitions are only slight and nowhere near some live trainwrecks I've seen.

I do like Holden & Thompson - Nothing (93 Returning Mix), Randy Katana - In Silence (Txitxarro mix), Mojado - El Toro and I really like that you put New Order - Blue Monday (Rogue Audio Mix) in there. I think the transition into Blue Monday is well done and it's good to have a song in there that will stick out to people who really haven't heard much EDM, as it will help them get into the rest of your set. The transition into In Silence is also well done.

I think the transition into Traffic needs some more work and I agree with Dave that it might not be the best song to use for a demo, but if you want to use it, I think that with a little more work you can make a really good transition into Bodyshock, as it sounds good right around 69:00. Personally I'm not a huge fan of Marco V's style and would have left out Age of Love, nor am I big on the Sam Sharp or Marcel Woods tracks, but I will probably listen to it again and maybe get more into them. There are a few areas where I think with practice you can make it a little tighter, but there's not too much I would really consider trainwrecks, just not as perfect as I think you'll be able to do as you continue practice.

I think the main thing you should continue to work on is developing the flow of your set. Again, I'll give this a listen again soon and be more specific, but I just feel the first time through that the flow sometimes starts to build up, then slows down, then speeds up again. Perhaps you might want to put a real classic song (or maybe move Blue Monday) a little more toward the middle, as a peak in the buildup of the set and also have a real strong finisher. The D:Fuse song you threw in for your friend isn't a bad song, but it doesn't seem like a powerful close to a set, that leaves you wanting more.

In any case, good job and I think you can really develop this into a quality demo that can get you some gigs. Hope you get to play in Chicago sometime.

Thanks so much for the review wolverine, you have no idea how it helps me out to hear feedback from others. Especially well thought out ones, that aren't here to bash me, or praise me or whatever. Constructive criticism was EXACTLY what I was looking for.

As for the mix, I just threw out really. Did'nt plan it or practice, just started recording myself, and that was the one i liked the most, so I posted it, to get some feedback, as to what I need to learn, and work on. I'm no where near a demo I assure you. I just want to absorb as much as I can, so that I can perpare to one day put out a demo.

Once again, thanks for your time adn comments.

Be Cool!

OK, I finished recording a set tonight and there's a couple trainwrecks (I hate my CD mixer!!!) but I don't have a website to post it on. I registered at a site, but I have to wait for the registration to be approved before I can upload. Hopefully tomorrow, unless someone knows a free hosting site that allows you to upload immediately.

Tracklist isn't anything special, I wish CDs allowed more room, because I wanted to fit in a Zabiela tune and Lawler's remix of Sand in My Shoes to change it around bit, but maybe next time. Hopefully I can post it soon.

Be Cool!

Finally I have created a generic website. The link is in my signature. My mix is in mp3 format, but not a very high bitrate either. Thanks in advance for any feedback.
