Would reverse psychology work? Talk to the topicstarter about the deep-technological shit from all the possible turntable features like poles, wow&flutter, anti-skating ...and the list goes on.
mayb he will just buy turntables to shut us up ... or go crazy

I picked up my MK2s for a little less than $500 for the pair, thats about 270 british pounds. I haven't had any problems with them so far.

of course it does. but the simple fact of the matter is that there are better turntables which allow you to do more. i prefer using the vestax because they allow me to do more with my music, and don't limit what i can play. i don't give a shit if my decks are going to be there in 20 years, i care about what they do now. in fact, why would i still want the same boring deck in 20 years? that would be my scenario if i bought techs vestax are of a high enough quality build that they will last for years either way.
i don't see why technics can't include something simple such as an ultrapitch function (that is any use, unlike the m5g) or a WORKING brake adjust (a start adjust would be nice too) that you can use on the fly, and hold the deck at the same price. then i would be happy.
