True 'dat, yo.

We are not outside. We experience this site. And part of the experience for some is seeing how things could be improved. It doesn't mean we don't greatly appreciate Swamper and all his works.

The opposite is true. We appreciate and as part of our tribute we want to translate our experience into an improved experience for all.

I'd just suggest being more supportive rather critical. How about the thread originator offering some suggestions on creating more money for TA instead of simply complaining?

I'm sure that people would get just as frustrated as me when the site breaks down, or the search function doesn't work or whatever, and I thought that a shift into merchandising could help a little, and suggested the same in the Site Suggestions forum.

I say that you get what you pay for, and since this site is free there is little room for whinging imo.

haha

Lots of good stuff coming folks, don't u worry.

BTW - the main pages (that never get updated) receive 80% of the daily traffic on the site, the forums are 20%.

The advertising on those pages is what pays for the server that the forums run on, so, thank the others

I was just curious if any of the people that are complaining about TA help to support it financially or volunteer their time with helping to keep it updated and maintained?

Its always like this. If you like something that is free then dont complain. Like complaining would make it worse. Well, it would
if you didnt give any constructive criticism.

First off, this is a free forum like all other forums. So TA has just as much competition as all other forums.
When a member complains about lack of updates and wishes that someone with more time on their hands would take
over, that doesnt signal that they hate the site, no. It tells you that they want the site and forums to
continue striving and living but that the current form arent working, at all.

If you run a project public for free or if you charge for it you are gonna get comments on it and i dont think
Swamper minds people caring for his project altho its sad that so many members go apeshit when someone actually
voices their opinion. You know what, if you cant tolerate that people want the community as we know as TranceAddict to
grow in different forms, why dont you find another place to hang out in?

Jesus, this guy is just caring for the site like everyone else that hangs in here but beeing an asswipe and trying to
censor comments you dont feel you have time to ponder aint gonna help.

Alot of sites I visit I just go straight to the forums, since in most cases all the stuff that might be on the front page is most likely discussed in greater detail on the forums.

yup ta v2 is on the way, and there is LOTS of uber-cool stuff in the pipeline which i am sure will keep you all happy for a while

re: the search and less than 4 characters; yes it would be beautiful if we could search for less than 4 characters, but as you may have noticed, search is already crippled anyway due the massive amount of data it has to trawl through, this would most likely only make it worse, and we really don't want that

I think this is an excellent suggestion. I donated money a few months ago and I think othere should do as well. I looked for the paypal link but I couldn't find it (does it even exist). It would be great if the admins put it somewhere like the main forums page, but not plaster it in every forum or thread.

well, not swayed either way about TA v2, because its fine as it is IMO, but V2 might be better. Just one thing, please keep the background black, or a very dark colour, it doesn't kill the eyes when you look at it like other sites.

Thiink of the eyes, THINK OF THE EYES!!!
