Well, it would certainly be a change from having yet another UNKLE album...

Eh, I thought Tranceport 3 was alright.
Even enjoyed a song or two.

Too many haters in this world.

I thought it was a little dull in tune selection, but the mixing was good.

I read an interview in a local dance mag with Jodi Wisternoff (from WoW) saying that Nick Warren was scheduled for the next GU

time will tell I guess...

Certainly not as a DJ.

Back in the days I used to enjoy Sandra Collins' mixes, at least they provided something a bit different from the usual uplifting stuff played here in Holland.

Her mixing a GU will never happen though.. Too bad for a lot of TAs here (even the ones who are slating her here), because with a tracklist such as the one Jan posted most people would cream their pants. Too bad for them that GU are too stuck on too small a list of DJs for their 'innovative' series.

1. While it is an impressive tracklist with some huge tunes, I wouldn't cream my pants over it. More than half of those tracks have been caned by most other DJ's so I dont really see how she would breath new life into the series judging by that T/L.

2. When did GU claim their series is "innovative"? Maybe back when it started it was, but now with so many other mix CD's flooding the market, the GU's lost some of their originality.

I didn't say that was a tracklist to use. It's just that a mix CD with THAT TYPE OF MUSIC that would appeal to lots and lots of people on this site. That tracklist (dunno where Jan got it) may have been from a year ago or so, when the tunes were still fresh. It just proves that Sandra Collins plays music that would appeal to a great deal of people on this board, even though I've seen quite a few people slating her in this thread.

I always thought of GU as a label which was constantly trying to push boundaries. Even though they're not succeeding in that as much as they have been in the past, they're still trying I suppose. There is a difference between trying to be innovative (which they do) and really being innovative (which is debatable in their case to say the least).

And still, for example, that last James Lavelle GU was at least something different. I'm not judging about the quality of it as I haven't really listened to it, but the tracklisting provided some tracks you wouldn't see every day. In that way, GU is still trying to be somewhat innovative I think. The amount of other mix CD's flooding the market does not really have something to do with what they are trying to achieve, I think.
