If you think Austin is expensive, try living in San Francisco, DC or Los Angeles.

Texas is free of the general attitude that California has. Not having to stress about parking is an intangible benefit.

See Ray-Ray's thread about Las Vegas for more proof on Texas-goodness.

Depends on what part of Houston I suppose, in the northside its mostly a bunch of hoodrats, chickenheads, gold-diggers and baby-mommas. But I live in the ghetto so...

i live in dallas, and i love it. bad traffic though...shitty drivers. i'm moving near austin next year for college. i'll be in georgetown to be exact, which is pretty close. i love austin...such an awesome music scene and shops and downtown is so clean haha. austin is my fave too. i'll have to disagree w/ you about houston though...it's so smoggy and gross. corpus is tight if you like ocean....san antonio is cool minus the tourists. austin has to be my fave though.

lol that made me laugh out loud.

In the urban centers, you don't find mullet boys or gun-toting rednecks. In Plano and Highland Park, you will find the hottest girls but the most superficial and stuck up I've experienced with. There are a lot of nice restaurants in Dallas and the nightlife is pretty tight in Deep Ellum. And no, not everyone here supports that religious fanatic George W Bush and his neo-con agenda
