you know I did the exact same thing, its a minor dislocatiin of your shoulder, and actually it can be quite handy...my drill partner was Christine Nordhagen( I think she 6, maybe 7 time world champ) and she put me in a half nelson, I resisted, she kept going, I resisted, and really my arm popped out, flooped around and popped back in. She freaked out, and I got an advatage on her, got a heel pick, and pinned her.
u got unlucky in that your arm didnt pop back in. Mine did. so I cant really give advice on what to do. But really dude, listen to the docs. I messed my knee in the semi for bronze, but still won. and I didnt want fourth, so against the docs advice, I wrestled in the bronze medal match...not only did I fuck it up more while in severe pain, but I withdrew cuz of it. Hobbling off the mat during a medal match isnt fun @ all.
altho I dont think having your arm out of your shoulder wont do any damage. Its the action of putting it out and back in(and moving it once its out) that does the damage...so if it was supported well, then you could sit there as long as you like(well, minues the pain)
still, I feel sorry for ya. Hope recovery is speedy, and if insurance covers it, try to see a physiotherapist for some quick rehab
