Thats a WEAK arguement. They get sent tons of promos & white labels. They don't need to go record shopping all the time, many labels send vinyl directly to their houses.

Resorting to old tunes & anthems a la Oakie is just lazy & insulting. Those tracks are a sure thing. A good DJ discovers a sleeper that no 1 else is playing, drops it, & then everyone is like "OMG, what is this? It's amazing!". That is talent! Anyone can spin anthems...its easy. Yeah he's consistently playing the same tunes. Look at the track listings from his sets from this year....very similar if not identical.

Hansolo: I didn't need a pen & paper. I was paying attention to the tracks, mixing & programming. I have an excellent memory. Like I mentioned before I had a good time, it was fun watching him play.

All I can say is that people are allowed to have their own opinion. You state it fine...but realize that most likely your not gonna change anyone else's mind on this board. What some of us felt at Tiesto this past Sat is how we felt...and we're allowed to feel that...whether it be good or bad. Just remember if everyone liked the same style there would only be 1 dj on this planet and not the many we are able to enjoy.

If anybody can spin anthems and it's so easy, why the hell aren't you as popular as Tiesto? Or me for that matter?

I know a bunch of local DJs here in Toronto who just spin Anthems. Do you think anybody outside Toronto knows about them?

Besides, not having enough time to choose new records IS a good argument. Say I'm working full time, and you are not. I'm receiving MILLIONS of promos, and you are simply browsing record-store 2-3 times a week. You think I will have time to listen to all these promos and select the good ones?? I know YOU will !!


By the way, what do you wanna bet, that when Armin comes to States, half his set is gonna be old anthems?

You are entitled to your own opinion and I would say it was silly of me to argue against your point, but what i will say is I feel sorry for you that you did not enjoy tiesto. If i was getting huge djs every week with a shitload of happy people dancing to music, maybe my opinion would change.

lucky for me TIESTO fucking rocked my world Oct 6th in TO.

Oh also, look at the track listing for Trance Energy. Judge Jules, Mario Piu, and Bond, Scott Bond all played ppk ressurection and many similar beats.

I think if the new trance was as good as what they are playing they would play it. Plus your just to damn edumacated in trance. Im sure the freshies lost their minds on sat.

Is it just me, or do I see a lot of older tracks and some anthems in here? His ID&T sets are pretty different. A lot more progressive than this. Well, I'd rather hear a set like this one.

I agree he should play more anthems.

Look people, nowadays you HARDLY EVER hear any anthems played by DJ's at any club. It's basically all progressive nowadays. So the desire to hear big epic gems, especially from a famous DJ, is quite reasonable, and I happen to have this view.

Don't put words into my mouth, I NEVER said Tiesto sucked. I never said I didn't have fun. I was on the dance floor the entire night! It was fun cause there was like 20 of us (my friends not ta's). No one can deny that Tiesto has been playing the same tunes all year. Even though Tiesto played oldies but goodies I still love him. He's incredible to watch...he brings a shit load of energy.
