So you'll send 14-15 year olds into combat as well?

Hate to kill your kids.

I've been drinking for so long and its so easy to get alcohol in the US when you're underage that when I turn 21 its not going to be a big deal. I think that by the time people are 21 they should have their irresponsible binge drinking days behind them, if you're just starting at 21 you're way behind. I think the repression does cause some of the problems because kids in America have to hide their drinking from their parents so there is a total lack of supervision and acceptable drinking behavior when you get a bunch of 17 year old American kids together with a bottle of booze.
I liken it to the whole Catholic school girl thing, I went to Catholic school for 15 years and let me tell you the stories are true.
I'm not really sure what or why the drinking age should have any bearing on the age people are allowed to join the military those are two totally different things.

You mean you don't have any experience with catholic school girls? I feel sorry for you, they're great.

i go to a protestant christian school, and a lot of times when we chillin, theres always mary j., coke, or booze around. dont get me wrong, there are say 25% who are truelly christian, then there is the 50% who are inbetween, and then there is the other 25% who are bad as fuc|<. ive seen a couple guys get so drunk, they started crying about the stupidest shyt. i try to refrain from all this, by smoking just a couple hits, or couple shots, so i was really just laughing at these cry-babies.

im guessing by the time we are 21, it will no longer be drink to rebel and get shit-faced, itll be something to add into the funness of the night. the focus wont be alcohol, the alcohol will help the focus of the fun.

I totally agree with you my school was infested with drugs because the kids there had the money to buy them and and were rebelling for being forced to go to a school they hated.

To me it seems one should be a great deal more responsible if they fancy joining the military than if they want to have a few drinks. The military is years of commitment and discipline while having some drinks is a few hours of fun or stupidity. I know I'd be much more upset if my 12 year old child joined the military than if he/she sneaked a bottle of booze.

I think they should make the age to buy tobacco and alcohol the same just to make it easier for the sellers to check IDs.

That age should be 18

arent you very much contradicting yourself now?

The older, the more responsible right?

"To me it seems one should be a great deal more responsible if they fancy joining the military than if they want to have a few drinks."

so, by that you are basically saying that people should be older to join the militairy or the legal drinking age need to be lowered
