I think we can understand that he just wanted to vent, right? Hopefully, hayabusa, you have realized that your parents sort of direct you (read: control) while you are still in their house. That's just how it is. Learn to accept it and work around it while showing your gratitude and maintaining a degree of independence (good) or move out on your own (also good). Both choices will warrant a degree of your freedom taken away - when living with your parents, you give up the ability to (obviously) drive wherever you please whenever you please. When you live on your own, you absolutely must maintain a job to make ends meet. When living with your parents or loved ones, you have sort of a buffer-zone: if anythigng were to happen to you or your job, all is already taken care of - otherwise, I'd say you're getting ripped off for a 1-room apartment, and the land lords really suck. See what I'm saying?
Also, if you expect to make it as a police officer, I'd suggest you learn how to take orders and follow rules set by those superior to you. I know this rant was just you venting, but you're probably going to face a lot of this sort of thing in the force, so just get used to it now.
School is good too. The earlier the better. Get your ass in college!
