I used to play that sort of stuff before it got called hardstyle. When trance went a bit meh in 1999 started playin stuff on overdose, traccid traxx etc. Hardstyle is such a rubbish name tho, n it became well cheesy. Its hard trance really. Thats what it used to be called anyway. Until tidy trax decided they'd call some of there melodic hardhouse hard trance then this hard style thing came about. Best HArd Trance track would be, well there are loads of golden oldies, scot p - future is now, asys - acid nightmare, scot p - overdrive, theres more but i havent listen to them in so long i cant remember.

So now I can finally conclude that people not from The Netherlands obviously don't know about hardstyle. I've been spinning it for a couple of years now and imo Scot Project (who is named by some of you) can't be described as hardstyle, it's hard trance. If you are looking for some real quality hardstyle search especially for dutch hardstyle dj's like pavo, DHHD(Luna, Trilok & Chiren), deepack(duo), the prophet but above all DJ LUNA, mindspace is his worst production, I think funky shit 2004 which he created together with trilok & chiren is his best. But to stay on topic: the best hardstyle track ever is the anthem of last years' Q-dance party Qlimax: Deepack - The Prophecy

Yep, this guy knows his hardstyle alright.

hardstyle disgust me. the reason is all those gay vocal samples they put into every tune such as "I AM YOUR BASS INSTRUCTOR!!!" "BLAST THE SPEAKERS!!!" etc. You could almost think that all songs are made by kids for other kids.
how serious can a song be one someone shouts in a dark gay voice "EAT BASS MOTHAFUCKAH!"
