You can't listen to 2 channels at once if you're using the 2016MP. The 2016MPa added split cue but it's still pretty new. Most likely the club will have the 2016MP.

so i can't adjust the lows, mids, and highs, but i'm just trying to check the beat matching, u know what i mean???

If you look at the cue selector you can see that it is only for a single channel. You can't monitor 2 channels at once in the head phones. The 2016MP forces you to mix with one ear in the head phones and one ear listening to external monitors.

I have heard of people that can't mix using external monitors putting their head phones half on both ears. That way you can hear the external monitors and headphone monitor at the same time in both ears.

If you know how to mix against external monitors, which is kinda the classic/proper way of mixing, you should be fine.
