I still listen to my trance. I do understand why a lot of people are turning away from the new stuff now though

That's the spirit. Don't lie to yourself.

I think most people here hate it because the more you listen to trance, the more you realize how bad it is. Trance was great when I was first listening to it in 99-00, even 01. But I don't know if it's caus the music has gone to shit, or if my tastes have just evolved to think it's shit, but either way I can't stomache the large majority of trance anymore. There are a few songs that I still love, but for the most part every new song that comes out is just not something I have any intention of wanting to hear it again.

That's much more a problem with the kind of trance being produced today -- mostly epic Dutch Armin-styled garbage -- than with trance itself. It's an important difference.

That is true. But, I find myself even rarely listening to my old trance tracks. Every now and than I might throw down a set of old tracks, and I enjoy it, but I just don't find myself really enjoying that sound anymore.

I definitely agree that most people overgeneralize trance into "techno." half the people don't realize that EDM has a ton of subgenres.
I disagree however that Trance is the easiest music to make. I think that just about any moron can write a simple Punk rock song such as just about anything from Nirvana, Green Day, or the Ramones.. but it takes talent to make a good sounding synth.

Oh god.

People who think Sandstorm is what all electronic music sounds like, are more right than you are to make that statement, or even compare those bands to eachother.

You out of your fucking tree? I'd hazard a guess that it takes talent to make a song in a punk rock style.
