Mine runs for ever without needing a restart, there are macs from 2 years ago that havent been turned off. WINDOWS IS INNEFICIENT. Its crappy multi-hardware integration makes it fucken unstable. Theres a reason wht professionals use macs for design, film, music production, etc.

Its not for the average user, its for people who want to use a computer for editing, be it video/photo/audio whatever. Thats what they are built for, and thats the audience they are aimed for. If you want want an efficient OS, use linux then.[quote]

Its actually faaaaar easier to learn than windows. Noobs can learn OS X in a day (yes, a DAY) where as windows with all that redundant shit thrown at you, makes it remarkably confusing to a new user.

G4 cube was a great idea, just executed poorly. We have one and it is running great still. Underpowered but hey, what do you expect from old technology.

You sure about that?

I have a ibook g4 and a ipod and both kick ass in my opinion. The ipod does everything its suposed to do and has alot more space then most other mp3 players, also it has my agenda on it and notes that i keep. It also one of the few mp3 players that is both mac and pc complatable. As for my ibook and it running osx, i feel that osx is a very secure os, its very stable annd though it may not be as easy to use for those that dont know how to use computers it makes up for it in its detail in other areas. Its like the difference between frutty loops and logic, Sure they both make music and fruitty loops will be alot easier to learn but logic in the long run has so much more you can do with it. Macs were designed for visual/audio artists and thus they are geared towards this area. As for there new stuff i beleive its shit, they are trying to become too mainstream and loseing what they are about; makeing quality equipment for the market the uses it. Anyways please dont bash macs for not being able to do what pcs can, there 2 differnt type of tools. If your looking for a good home computer thats easy to use get a pc, If your looking for something to make music/video projects with then get a mac, its simple as that.

Macs are for professionals most PCs are for the general computer illiterate mainstream person. Dell for example.

You dont need to emulate OS 9 in order to run OS 9 apps (just run OS 9 itself)

More importantly:

who the fuck uses OS 9 apps?!

Apple has always sold the Mac for the people that find windows, or PC's to confusing, look at the fuckin iMac, the whole promotional theme was how simple it was to get it going.
the iMac was made as a cheap way to get on the internet. note the i in iMac. It was not made for people who dont like PCs it was made for getting online. If you want the powerful line you have to look at the Power line, the Powerbook and the Power mac G5. And then you have the iBook for the laptop to do the basic things. Then you have the eMac *inteded initailly for basic educational use but sold publicly*

It doesn't load an emulater, it just starts up that system. That's what has to load. Kind of like on windows you can operate windows on one partition and on another linux, but linux isn't immediatly available it has to log in or start up first.

I'm sure there's a reason why G5 are selling well in a musician market.

you obviosly have never used logic on a mac platform. Also you failed to notice me saying this gives them a chance to test the platform its self of course they cant run 100 waves plugins. But it is a fine machine to run logic on. Until recently i was doing all my production on a 800mhz powerbook with 1gb of ram... Do not make asumptions when you have no fucking clue what your talking about....
