I remember watching a documentary about his family charging basically a leg an arm for the rights to use the speech even in documentaries. Pretty lowball if you ask me. I'm sure Martin is rolling in his grave now.
Armin did Veracocha - Carte Blanche w/ the moon landing speech in it, "one small step for man..."... it was my personal favorite speech in a set example, cause you guys care, I know.

Sad to see that Martin Luther King have his own day.
The one who better deserve it is this man:
ive got a great treat i want to share with everyone here. this is a set by the wighnomy brothers. most people have never heard of them. this is probably the best dj set ive heard in years.
in the beginning they play the mlk speech, thats why im posting it in this thread.
please, tell me what you think. if you like it ill post their other more recent sets, one of which also has the mlk except its looped/modified in ableton or some shit.
Love how the second part of his speech seems perfectly synched, almost like he's rapping to the beat. Very sick.

seriously, they're like my favorite djs right now. legends in the making. i predict soon they will rank higher than ricardo villalobos or luciano.
watch this badass video. who the hell guzzles vodka straight? thats beyond hardcore, its gross. i love how hes scrambling to put on another record before the speech runs out, and hurries to put on a different one after realizing the first one he was going to play didnt sound right. this video helps explain to the digital newschool kids understand why vinyl just might never go away, like a violin or piano. notice how he looks at the vinyl groove to know when the beat comes in, (with cds you have to write down timestamps, lame). watch the turntable powerdown (cdjs have a simulation of this but its not even close to the real thing)
