I hate djs who play a great tune and mix out after 2 mins. like FUCK who are you trying to be? Bad Boy Bill? ANd if a song is really hyping up the crowd, doing an extended re-edit on the fly is obviously a cool way to whip them into an even bigger frenzy. Its all about playing to the crowd.

There's a balance between Bad Boy Bill and playing out every track from start to finish with as little mixing as possible.
Don't you agree, Jay, that Jeff mills does the quick mixing quite well? I thought you were a Mills fan.
Anyways, I'm totally not harping on Mark here, he is an amazing DJ, and he does play to the crowd. I'm just not his crowd, I guess!

This was a crazy set and that heartbreaker song kills me everytime
If I were to compare the Toronto clubbing scene to the WWF then Charles would be Vince MacMahon and Mark Oliver would be HULK HOGAN!!

Different style of DJing, I guess...I can't just stand there and watch a record spin for 5, 6 or 7 minutes before mixing in another one.
The thing about Mark is he NEVER just lets the record spin for 5,6,or 7 minutes. He is looping and experimenting with sounds all the time. In this case in priticular with Murder was the Bass I think he had it on 2 records. If you listen carfully you can hear when the second record comes in.
