i live in a house, and i got a complaint once from someone living two doors down....i wasnt even aware u could hear the music from my driveway, but oh well...some ppl

oh this was around 1pm ish btw during the summer

That's the City of Toronto by-law regarding noise. Stereos appear to fall under the specific 11pm-7am prohibited noise times, although there is also a "general prohibition" which states:

"No person shall make, cause or permit noise or vibration, at any time, which is likely to disturb the quiet, peace, rest, enjoyment, comfort or convenience of the inhabitants of the City."

...so it probably comes down to a judgement call. If after 11pm, you are certainly violating the noise bylaw if someone can clearly hear your music. Before 11pm though, it depends if a resonable person's peace, rest, enjoyment etc. would be disturbed by the volume.


The Jay-X1 bylaw. You want absolute quiet? Move to the countryside.

Well the thing that actually happened is that I have a Sony stereo system and I put it on the "groove" mode, so the walls of the entire buiding were probabbly shaking all the way down the parking garage, as soon as I turned that thing off it was all back to normal
