Hasn't been an issue, only DJs touch the DJ gear. The other people that come in my room stay away cuz (a) they know it costs a lot, (b) they know i will murder them if they break anything, and (c) it looks fucking intimidating!

lol, i am sure you could use my decks without dying.. if you know how to use the equipment (the end result doesn't have to be special, we all have to start somewhere) and you use it carefully, i wouldn't kill you

thats reassuring. i ask because alot of my friends are into their hard dance music. and those are the people that are curious about the gear ive got. and most of them understand that my access virus b is my BABY. so i dont get any trouble except when they have a lapse of concentration and start toking over my toys. to which i often reply - 'you dont smoke next to a baby in a pram do you? take it outside!'
none of them are particularly well versed in production. but they treat other people's property with respect. and they expect the same from me when i trainwreck their latest purchase from juno records. i once had a friend who i let borrow one of my snes games (cybernator by konami - absolutely phat big robot game. i was about 11 at the time). he threw out the box and gave only the cartrige and a battered manual back. he has never been my friend since.
EDIT: i forgot to add, im now 22. i know - its not healthy to hold grudges for this long. but you must understand - that game was PHAT and the box had a groovy picture of a big robot busting through a warehouse and shooting at loads of little people running about panicking.

i got a buddy who had someone over and they wanted to try to do some scratches... ended up pressing down on the headshell rather than the record and totally fucked up my bro's stylus... what sucks even worse is that the deck is an antique Techs belt drive from like the 70s and i dont think he can find a replacement needle...
so for now, he either doesnt spin, or when he goes to do so he has to keep the needle taped to the cart cus its so flimsy
some ppl are just str8 up clueless

could you elaborate on this - im having trouble understanding what this guy did? let me get this straight, he didnt push/pull the record forwards and backwards and wiggle the crossfader. he pushed *down* on the headshell and squashed the needle into the surface of the record?
if so. your buddy's buddy is a retard. you should remind him every day of the remainder of his life.

lol indeed
my bro told me he did all the back and fourth motion you would do on the record - on the headshell
he showed me the record it was done on... had it been mine i'da cut off his hand, slap him with it then shove it up his ass for kicks
the needle looks as if its hanging onto the cart by a thread
