This is exactly the reason why Greeks don't want to recognise Macedonia. If Macedonia becomes a country and actually annexes all the Macedonian regions, both Greece and Bulgary will lose some territory.

Although they'll swear on the name of Zeus that they're opposed because of historical reasons.

Well if you managed to steal a name to feel that you have some heritage then I guess you can feel Macedonian. The fact is that you have absolutely no relationship at all with the ancient Macedonians. a)maybe because he lives there for 5 years and not originally from there.
b)because the term American is more inclusive.

If you ask me where both my grandfathers have their roots in Macedonia (Veroia-near Vergina where the capital of Alexander's time was and Serres) I'll say yes.
