And please don't give me that "there are no good games on consoles" bullshit.

There are loads of awesome games for consoles, hence why I have an xbox. I prefer PC because of the better graphics, controls and the fact that I can do so much else with it and tweak it to perfection.

For quality and features I choose a PC. You build your own for a few hundred bucks and it'll last you longer than any console.

Consoles may have more games but I'm more than happy with the ones I own already.

Very well put, I must say.

Consoles are a nice commodity to have alongside a custom-made PC. I usually end up longing for my mouse and keyboard since, these days, I see many games that'd benefit using that combination rather than the, as of late, poorly designed controllers.

Unfortunately, I find myself longing to play the older games on their own respective consoles. Emulators and ROMs are nice... but I just miss the old days. That's why I still have my SNES plugged in whenever I feel like having a good time.

To me I see a console as the everyday guy/girls entertainment unit. It's also good for reliability, you know all your ps2 games will work on a ps2, etc.

For the more hardcore first person shooter fans and diehard gamers they may choose the road down to a powerhouse PC that they can fully customize. Although I wouldn't mind a fully modded XBOX, the things that a modded xbox can do are limitless.

There are pros and cons to both though. I choose XBOX over gamecube and ps2 though, a modded xbox > all else.

The healthy medium between having a console and a PC would be a modded xbox. There are a plethora of games (not as many as ps2 but more than PC) and it also has the ability to watch any type of movies from dvd to divx to svcd, copy games and other media to the hard drive, run emulators, play online for free, swap the dvd drive for faster load times or just copy games to a swapped hard drive for even faster load times and even easier access to games, etc. etc. It also has the visual customizability as well because of it's larger size making it easy to not only install a modchip but also replace the entire case and lace it with LED lights .

To some a modded xbox can be the best or the worst, some wanting entirely what a console has to offer and others wanting what a PC has but personaly I find it to be an awesome and less expensive median in the console vs. PC wars.

... You sure about that? I mean... PC games have been coming out for like 10+ years.

I know but I'm talking about the rate they come out at. A PC is the longest running gaming rig so the fact that it's been out for so long means that the only real fair way of gauging the amount of games it has is on a monthly, or more logicaly a yearly basis.

Computers will last your longe? Maybe one for a few thousand bucks, but definately not for a few hundred bucks.

Consoles usually live up to 4-5 years before new versions come out. I'd love to see a present-day gaming rig run a game released in 4 years.

A few thousand? I doubt it. My brother just spend about a grand and a half on an awesome computer, scored close to 9000 on 3Dmark 03. I'm sure that in a few years time it will still run the newer games and if not it may require a minor 3D upgrade (wow a simple 200 bucks extra).

Sorry but I want something that does more than just playing games and watching DVDs and with a computer I can do a hell of a lot more.
