awww omg I loved the pictures...the ones of Amsterdam the city more than TE...they were both great though...the Armin ones were of course the best (biased comment) HOW WAS HE?!!!!! The city looks really astonishing. I loved the under 18 do not enter with the caption underneath lol it was classic. I'm so glad you enjoyed yourself...I'm sure you did explore but I was wrong for telling you to leave the comp. everyone is different and does things differently!!
I really love the photos of the city, they really captivated me...the cafe's must have been AWESOME!
It made me want to visit....actually MOVE over there even more. |
Glad you liked them, Lis.
I went out 2 days in a row. I arrived at the hostel at around 12:30? I was tired as fuck from the plane, the train and the tram. I dropped my stuff off and went out, then came back, then went out again. I did this Friday and Saturday. Then Saturday night was TRANCE ENERGY. THAT was a longgggg ass night! When I got back to Amsterdam Centraal Station, it was HAILING! I had to grab a taxi at 8 in the morning to get back to the hostel. When I got in I just passed out. Great times, great times!

Finally.....the review

REVIEW:
As everyone knows, I never got my ticket from ticketbox.nl It got lost in the mail or stolen, so they cancelled the ticket and gave me another way to get into Jaarbeurs for Trance Energy. A confirmation number and my ID. I arrived about 20 to 10, and when I tried to get into one entrance, they told me the Guestlist door was on the other side of the building. I had to run in the cold and the rain to the guestlist door. I showed the number to this girl as well as my FL Driver's ID. I got in without even being searched.
I walked around and was amazed at how huge the place was. FInally found the main stage where Ronald van Gelderen was spinning. I heard "Need to be loved" (Thrillseekers remix) and got into the party mood right away. His set was a warm up set, but he played nothing but good shit including Kyau vs. Albert - Made of Sun. When he started his official set, he just tore it up with harder stuff, good stuff. Good times, good times. Such a long, painful night. It started getting packed, but by the pics, you can tell I was close to the mainstage. I didn't go to any other stage the whole night.
When Eddie Halliwell came on, I was worried I wouldn't like his set. But I did. And when Judge Jules came on, I was also plesantly surprised. The only song I had a mild disliking to was Naline & Kane - Beachball. But I still prefer THAT over the SateliSHIT. Sorry, no prog or ghey house shit allowed at TRANCE Energy.
Finally....Rank 1 LIVE.
They opened up with some unfamiliar but slamming tunes. As you could see by the pics there were these two people who were climbing satin sheets? Or something? It was freaky. Then the bIG moment came when they played their LIVE rendition of the Trance Energy theme, [email protected] SICK SICK song. They had a dude playing part of it acapella(?) in the middle of the entire room on a GRAND PIANO. It was much too far from me to get a pic. Then AIRWAVE came on. It wasn't Breathing, but it was almost the same. STILL sent chills down my spine. Last song: Awakening. Beautifully done. I hope I can see Rank 1 again!!!!!
Then ARMIN!!!! Finally!!! He didn't disappoint. Played some tunes from ASOT as well as other songs. I can't remember them, though. He has sucha great energy about him, and really interacts with the crowd, much like Ferry, who of course came after Armin.
When Ferry came on, Armin was drinking champagne. They both had a glass and toasted. Then as you can see from the pics, Armin came out from behind the booth and shook hands with some of the fans by the front.
Ferry came on, and I was deperately hoping for MY SONG to come on. After about 30 mins or so (I can't remember.) IT CAME ON. I honestly didn't think he would play it....but he did. I almost collapsed AGAIN. My ultimate dream...to hear Force of Gravity at the same event where I heard it the first time...was realized...and I recorded the song on .MPEG video. Ferry's set was great, of course, and he was having a great time behind the decks. I really loved seeing him for the 4th time.
Johan was the last one I saw. He was funny as hell, interacting with the crowd, but a great DJ indeed. Played lots of harder stuff I couldn't ID, and he took out the lighter. I lit mine, as well as other people...then I burned myself. After about 45 mins of Johan, I walked around to move my legs some after being in one spot almost the whole night.
The time of my life.
I'm sooooooooooooo there next year!
