Chillout buddy, what I meant was that he can come up with his own tunes. You don't have to know how to write notes to compose music. The greatest masterminds of guitar had no idea how to write notes.

i'm callin bullshit right now. who do you consider masterminds? steve vai? kirk hammett? eddie van halen? clapton? they all know what they're doing. they don't just pull a crazy improvization out of their ass, without knowing anything about scales, modes, etc.
