yeah man seriously, how can you even think of acting before you know your contract verbatim.

our landlord lies to us all the time, but we all have copies of the lease in our rooms.

stop what your thinking and get your lease ASAP. then if it bans dogs its your own fault for not paying attention, if it doesn't your landlord can't touch you.

Very Very simple solution....

Claim it as a service animal. You know, like dogs used for the blind. Service animals come in all forms and shapes. They not only are used for "guiding" but also as a psychological need. I.E. you'd be depressed, raging, alcoholic junkie without it.

They don't need to be perscribed, though having a note from a psych saying the comfort need is viable is all the better. (This could vary state to state) They don't need to even be a dog. And best of all, you are protected by law to have it in posession, no matter any written contract. Because contracts pertain to pets...not service animals.

If the landlord still asks you to remove it, you have big grounds for action against the landlord. I have one friend that does this for his cat (and believe me he'd go insane w/o it), and in the airline industry I'm in, I've seen people bring on board the stupidest shit (birds, monkey's) and they just say "Service Animal" and we are bound by law not to even bring up alternative solutions, even if you know they are lying through their teeth that's its just their pet aardvark.

If it means that much to you, there is always a way. If anything...move.

well thanks for all the help guys. my roomates are very scared of getting kicked out but i did kick a pretty big movement about them regarding the living conditions. i told them i'd contact my parents in the morning and see if they would hold it until my lease is up here. If they say no, i will try one of your methods. i'm really happy i posted this, there were many ideas possible that i didn't think existed.
