i think that you most likely have bad taste. i also think that people, like me, generalize and sterotype shows/music like whats on ASOT, because its so chalk full of pompous shit. overplayed, overhyped shit. now that may be an opinion... but usually...and i find this alot, many people who listen to asot are ignorant to the glories and discoveries of the other genres and expansions of EDM. its just how it works...no one starts from listening to mainstream rock, lets say, and then finds EDM, and goes right into IDM...or minimal...etc. Take someone who listens to jazz mabye, its more likely (to me anyway), that they will tend to go towards the more...musically developed genres. Someone who listens to underground jazz is most likely better to sniff through the mainstream filler bullshit. Just a theory though. But I wish people would AT LEAST wake up and SEE why people would and should bring down ASOT. Its the top 10 countdown for EDM in a more subtle form. Wake the fuck up. But oh trust me, ive been there...i used to listen to ASOT ALL THE TIME, every show. Trance just grabs a hold of you and doesnt let go. Its the simplest form of EDM (commercial EDM anyway), any asshole and his dog can listen and enjoy trance. It has a simple nobrainers fucking structure, its filled with emotion, makes people cry with joy and other feelings (ive been there, trust me); all those hands in the air moments, the epic breakdowns and buildups...but when the beat drops back in i sometimes find myself feeling guilty. Guilty towards myself for being such a ignorant pussy. Its the same shit as people who listen to mainstream rap. Yeah, its fucking cool (to some at least, i say this loosly, because im not one of those people), it has additude, it basicly has all the ingrediants to be a success IE: aggressive lyrics, additude up the fucking yingyang, the promise of a lifestyle full of glory: scantly clad women, drugs, money, fame, and respect. Of course it turns people on. People get hooked onto that, regardless if its good. Same thing happens with trance, and every other form of Pop. Yes, people, trance is fucking pop. Mainstream, over the top, watered down (yes, it IS a nod to Dave Clarke, fucking genious); monotonous, melodramatic pop. And most of all, its likable. But does that mean its fucking good? does that mean you should defend it because others do, because your little pitiful, untrue to your self exsistance has told you to be like everyone else, weather you know it or not? Fucking no. Ive been there, people, ive done that, everyone. I listened to trance & rap. And ive gotten out of it myself. I dropped the friends i had who liked it all, and started over. Yes, that is fucking harsh, but in doing so, i saw the truth. The truth is, im a fucking god, and you can burn in hell.

That is all.

PS.

i feel so big.

3½/4 of what i said is pretty acurat (at least to me)

feel free to thrash me with your petty arguments, i KNOW im right, and i think some people will be with me on this.

AT LEAST KNOW THAT WHAT YOUR LISTENING TO IS WATERED DOWN POP. IF YOU CANT SEE THAT, YOU, MY FRIENDS, ARE DUMB. DUMB DUMB DUMB.

EDIT: Forget 3½/4 of what i said.

Wow

I obviously love "pop", the only thing I'm wondering is; why the f would you drop friends and "start it all over" just because of your taste?

Expect wankers like sandstorm to instigate anti-ASOT threads like this.
Well done resident wanker.

The tune was quite alright. But I've really started liking it after a few listens.

Voyage rocked, and is arguably my favorite of all time. I listened to the sample, with an unbiased opinion, and have to say that I've been let down. The tune is over-hyped, and it feels a lot more pop-ish than what Yahel is capable of. The vocals irritate me a bit, as well. I give it a 6/10.
