But how do you feel when some ignorants tell you: "omg. EDM is such shit. It all sounds the same. I fucken hate it. Go sniff some coce somewhere ******".

and my point is that most people should just realize that they listen to cheese instead of arguing that it isnt. trance is cheese. there IS no getting around that fact. i see your point, and even though its valid and it makes (enough) sense...those people are to ignorant to mention. for now, lets try and put to rest this age old argument that we've all started already. alot of people put up inconsistant and unethical arguments. i want to hear someone point out why trance ISN'T cheesy. then we can argue. people get flamed and ragged on because for their sterotypical posts, wowing some overplayed, run-of-the-mill song, that all the DJs are playing, all the kiddies are raving about, and all the people with some kind of creative taste in music dont give a fuck about. its usually likely that the people who rave about these songs, have no prior taste in say, minimal techno. of course it doesnt apply to everyone, but you know, not EVERYONE gets flammed here. theres usually some kind of unspoken reason. now-a-days you can basicly tell these kind of people apart by there TA names, sigs, musical tastes, etc. I must say it again though, not everyone is like this, but it occurs so much, that of course it gets sterotyped. everythink that some EDM "outsiders", people who have no knowledge of the genre, mabye are turned off from trance, not because they are stupid, ignorant or anything, but because its just so goddamn fluffy? HOW on earth can any of you people deny that it ISN'T cheese? it boggles me fucking mind. stop yer goddamn bitchin, and just accept the fact, yes lots of people dont like EDM, and yes, trance is fluffy, cheesy, over the top, you could even go as far as goofy, but thats getting Too opinionated. theres just no denying that its cheesy, and you wonder why so many people tend to label it as just that. GARANTEED! 90% of the people who slack the genre have a far more in-depth taste than most of the ASOT listeners (ASOT listeners... well i dont just mean people who listen to ASOT, but that typical breed of EDM lover who is intolerant of other genres, but complains when people slack trance) i dont have to be tooo specific as im sure you wont argue, and will know what i mean. i find it to be true that ALOT of ASOT-kiddies wont listen to other styles aswell. or are even just completely ignorant of them in the first place. i hear about it all the time. So dont give me any of this "everyone on TA bitches about cheese". Mabye you are the naive one here. read my other past post aswell for more bitching/facts/opinions/ranting/ideas/etc

The thing is. It's all a matter of thinking. To you, who has been in the EDM scene for how long?, and who has really gotten a taste of a lot of different genres (I assume), trance is cheese. But the peepz who are just beginning to explore the scene and starting to get into it, trance is not cheeze. Get my point?
I just recently registered on this site, but I've from time to time browsed it since the beginning of 2004. And all I see is trance getting bashed.
A person comes and posts about, let's say...Tiesto-Flight643, and the flaming begins. What's the point of staying on this forum, for those bashers, when they don't like trance. I'm sure they have a shitload of more experience than me and everything, but what's the use of it. So far I haven't seen one reply that's something like: "You like that tune? You should check out that and that(from the more ""evolved"" genre, to introduce new things to those so-called n00bs). What's the use of experience when it's not used. Instead, I see only pointless ranting and bashing. Why be here then?
Why is the site called "tranceaddict" anyway?

I agree with you about : "To you, who has been in the EDM scene for how long?, and who has really gotten a taste of a lot of different genres (I assume), trance is cheese. But the peepz who are just beginning to explore the scene and starting to get into it, trance is not "

you know, it just gets tiring when people post the same stuff over and over again. i guess im glad there are just That many people getting into EDM. but, i have to point out, we have ALL be there at some point. Not knowing shit about it. when i came to this site, i had...well...not too much experience with EDM. But i learned, i was flamed, it will hopefully work out the same for them. looking at it that way, it reminds me of how the grade 10-12 would see the grade 8s as fresh meat. same kinda thing here i suppose. people learn through error.
they will get there experience wether i like it or not (half joking, heh). its not a matter of IF, its when, and how.

5:40 am here, i know its pathetic, but i need sleep. i will find some time in my day to possibly come on here (who am i kidding :happy2, and keep this going for as long as a i can. my perspective on it all now, is that im slowly making my point clearer (to myself) which each post, and slowly working out what i need to say, with, of course, some bullshit on the side.

I totally agree with you on that, but I just wish people would lighten up and be nicer for a while (even if it does get the point through slower) instead of throwing fireballs all the time.
At the end of the day we all share the same passion - music.

im really glad you agree, and so far, despite some things ive said, its been a respectful argument. thats true though, that should be enough you know, the passion we all share. i guess its only natrual for drama to stem when there are 45,30 users. i shouldnt get so upset, and neither should anyone else. but, however, saying that, i still think its a VERY valuable subject to discuss. mabye not for influence and power, but at least for knowledge and understanding. its just music after all

What gets me is that I happen to like the 'fluffier' trance, but generally with more upbeat or pumping feel to it, and I've been into EDM for 7 years, and I like breaks, and prog and whatever, a good track is just that regardless of genre.

Yet when some elitist whore comes and goes, "Bah, total cheese " it pisses me off! Ever heard the saying "If you havent got anything nice to say, dont say anything at all"?

Flame wars only start coz someone lights a match.

This thread is getting nastier with the second. This discussion will always be. Just listen what you like, and what if some TA's go down on you saying 'OMG cheese n00b' than it still would be the music you like. Although there are some TA's who are kind enought to explain where they listen too and advise you to try some tracks out to expand your horizons. Those people I highly appreciate.
