on dc++ get filelists and then download everything that you've never heard before and try to listen to it all. Keep what you like ditch what you dont. When djs drop tracks you've never heard in a set try to get the name of it. I dont think it's possible to keep up with music, things change so fast. There are more people making more music than any one person could ever know about. There will always be someone more up to date on new shit than you, so get the info from them.

you dont need to keep up to date on recent choon releases unless you are a dj, poser-j, or music enthusiast.

I usually burn livesets on a cdrw to play in my car for a few days, if there's a catchy song, I'll dig up the playlist and try to single it out, then proceed to dl the song if I can't buy it. (I aint paying 50 for import+shipping). I'm weary of buying stuff at FYE or cd stores so I'll check reviews at TA and amazon.

TA is pretty consistent with their recommendations and have never let me down thus far so that's the easiest/safest bet. (i.e., let others do the dirty work for you, you'll quickly notice they'll gladdly come screaming about a hot new track).

I'm still looking for a more thorough edm mp3 store than beatport or a reliable edm store online based out of the US to purchase cds.

Asot is not bad, but they only play 2 hours.

There are a lot of sleeper hits out there. I got hooked on Trance in 2003 and I'm still listening to 2004 stuff.
