Hell if u have money to burn then i can see...but for avg ppl like me who pay for univ + apt rent + food + bills, i guess taking care of equipments is the upmost thing. Its like a mother taking care of a new born baby. I lay a nice clean white towel which i wash every week on top of the tts and kiss them good bye when off to work...(ok well no, but u get the point about caring). Heck at one point i thought i would start wearing rubber gloves so that the sweat from my hands dont touch the tables.
