usually if you stick to a similar genre when you mix, the bpms will only vary by 1 - 3 bpm, which doesnt make too much of a difference (maybe half a semitone) which actually sounds quite cool in some places because the track is still pretty much the same key but there is a slight difference, not quite enough to clash, and it still glides together nicely and sounds in key. of course if your tlakingabout pitching a record up by like 5 bpm your guna change the picth a whole lot.. but usually its not a problem really. but yeah something to take into account i guess. ive never conciously bothered with harmonic mixing, never felt the need to, and still once in a while youll find 2 tracks which are in key, so great, it doesnt have to be every mix though
