I was speaking with RJ as he was posting this last night. I've waited for an evening to post my response on here because I wanted to say it correctly. First off, I completely and whole heartedly agree that this has got to stop.
I haven't been on this board for a long time but I had been a lurker long before I signed my life away. I've seen many a member go missing. And now since I've joined I've metup with a lot more people who used to be members but left because of the animosity and aggression on here.
Think about how many useless threads are put out there just to start wars; someone starts an "OMG TIESTO'S PLAYING _______" and of course you're going to get teh 500 obligitory "I HATE TIESTO, HE'S A HACK" posts within that thread, not to mention the 3 threads started afterwards bashing the poor man. Why? I've said it before and I'll say it again, an opinion is one thing but an all out flame bash just to start shit up is stupid, so don't bother.
I've been in interviews with Tiesto, Dumonde, Rank1, and others. I would say that they are respectable DJ's in the music industry no? Every single one has said that they view TranceAddict. All of your immmature comments and stupid little spats between one another go noticed by the very people you look up to and love. Why do you guys do this? An example from speaking with Dumonde directly was that they said when putting out a new track they read on TA that it's "crap, it's not Dumonde style, it's not this, it's not that...it may be from the same 5-10 people all the time...". I'm sorry, but there is just too much heat in the kitchen.
Myself, I am seriously debating leaving this forum. What happens if Kandaio, Ampz, or any otehr TA DJ get to be a huge DJ someday? Say they become 'Tiesto-like' in fame. What happens. Are you going to turn on your very own TA's? Are you going to treat the ones you went to party's, the ones you clubbed with, the ones you digiletly went out to their shows and watched them grow in fame.... how are you going to treat them? Can we expect the same style of bashing threads from your fellow mates in the future?
The annonymity of the internet is one thing. You can hide behind your username or your avatar and have your own hidden persona without anyone really knowing who you are. But when you party with these people on a weekly basis, you form bonds with these people, and you genuinely become friends with these people, what right does it give you to bash them and rip them apart just because you hide behind a computer. Ask yourself this; would you say the things you say on a forum to your own friends faces. If the answer is yes, pick up the phone and call them, because we don't need that kind of behaviour on here.
Treat your fellow man/woman as you would like to be treated and you will receive the same treatement.
