low move.
Ummm there was no trick here. The place was full really early.

The people in line should be told that they've reached capacity and are adopting a 1-in-1-out policy for the remainder of the night if such a thing occurs... Seems only fair to me.

sadly some people are going to be disappointed when there are so many people trying to get in. Republik could have let everyone in but then we'd be talking about overcrowding instead of not getting in.
You can't win

Dance sucks I paid 20 dollars cover and 25 dollars parking for a TRANCE CLUB not for dance anthems and 'underground' dance anthems. not that im sure there arent people who enjoy dance and underground dance anthems but if thats what they want to spin they shouldnt be advertising on TRANCEaddict.

a lot of non-trance events are promoted on TA .. but i guess perhaps you found the advertising to be a bit misleading. might be worth checking out when J00F gets into town to get a better feeling for its trance potential ..

they dont(often) play trance @ boa or system, yet they are hugely popular on TA
and I think its funny, people are saying it was roomy, and rosati is saying it was at capacity.
which to me means that people are so used to venues overcrowding that they expect it, and when a venue is at legal capacity, they look empty. I know im going to love a venue that stays at legal capacity(there will be dancing room!)

Is everyone new? WTF kind of expectations did you have?
* I had to wait in line forever...
It's a NEW club! It's opening night! If you don't come early or know the door staff, you won't get in fast. There's no magic science to it.
* They only let girls in.
Of course they did! Again, no magic science here. More girls equals more guys wanting to get in and waiting in a line to do so.
* The place was empty.
BS. The club was very full. I'm sure they overdid capacity like every other club in the world (when the opportunity presents itself). Capacity is less than no room to move.
I can't wait until many of you go clubbing elsewhere in the world. You'll be in for a shock at how good you have it here...

Excellent point.
It's unfortunate that some people didn't get in, I can understand why that would be frustrating when you had expectations to go to an opening night. But to someone else's point, it is a grand opening... these things happen.
Think of it this way guys, the club would have much rather had you all inside spending money at their bar then standing outside. It's not like they didn't let you in because they didn't want you there. Lesson learned for next time, just show up a little earlier.
As for the music format, it won't be trance every single weekend, they want to please different people with different tastes and you can't blame them for that. Just pay attention to who will be playing in the events section and you'll know what nights to go if house isn't your thing.
I thought the night was a great success overall; the staff was very courteous and professional and I was absolutely blown away by how tastefully done the club was. There are a few kinks to work out here and there, as is the case with any new venue, but the club did a terrific job last night overall. I'm looking forward to seeing what this club will do for the city.
Nice to see some of you TA'ds out last night, and always great to meet new ones.
See you all there in April!

Generally a great opening night last night. Yes we did hit capacity at around 12:00 and was forced to do an "in and out" policy. Being our first night we had a huge turnout early and an excessive guest list to deal with. Every body was generally good about it but the front of the club did get extremely busy even with two doors. To all who didn’t get in I apologize and I will personally send an invite out... you know who you are. The doors did slow down and where manageable after 1:30 so for events like Johan and JOOF it may be easier to come after 1:00am since they do go on around 3:00 or later. I will post the details later this week.
Oh... I didn’t play last night at all...
So Tatgirl is right... little to no trance
what "in and out" policy?? thr was no policy in effect xept to make ppl standing in line wait forever while girls cd get in for whtever bribes they cd muster...yes we were told arnd 12:30 tht they r at full capacity n wd b continuing on an 'one out one in policy' but tht never happened. like i said earlier, i along with 20 other ppl were in line for a full hour n we saw tons of ppl leave...almost twice as much as us...n yet they wdnt let us in...moreso...when me n my frnd reached the front of the line arnd 1:50-2, i saw a group of 5 ppl leave n i asked the bouncer if we cd go in now..since we're only 2....but nop...we waited another 10-15 mins while abt another 10 ppl left n more girls walked rt in.
and when we did get in...firstly the coat check was a bit messed up...ppl leaving n getting in were at the same place..i asked one of the attendants n he said the lineup is the same for both i thot they had two doors..one for entrance n exit each!! also, the main room was really half empty...no joke or exageration here...half empty n yet they kept ppl waiting outside...i for one cant comprehend this.
it doesnt really matter wht sound or visual quality ur getting inside (which by the way was really impressive) when ur getting rattled outside...really puts a damper 4 the rest of the night...ive got nothing against waiting in line...as with a new club n massive promotion its expected to attract a large crowd...but its gotta b fair n impartial.
peace

This coming from the guy who can't tell his house from his trance... credibility = 0. If u think TRANCEaddict should only promote trance events, you need a reality check. There was no misleading from the club ever- there's a little to cater to everyone.
Also, know your parking lots. I know lots which are cheaper in the area and go to them. I have no intention of paying a night's cover on a parking lot.
