I use to go swimming there as a kid. They didn't have showers so we opted to go camping at some other park nearby.
But Mara Park use to have paddle boats and my cousin and i would go on adventures! lol But we quickly stopped exploring the swampy areas when we found turtles with leeches on them.

I know of one in Miller Lake, we've gone to before. Its just south of Tombermorry. Its not as big or anything as the large provincial ones, but you go with some good friends and you have a blast.

Is Miller Lake a private campground? Do you know if they have amenities like showers and stuff?

thanks

For provincial parks, on a long weekend you've got to book WELL ahead of time...like a month or more before.

At this point, your best bet is to look into private parks (which is what I had to do).

Ya, its private, and they have toilets and showers there, 4 or 5 each both girls and guys.

Also, incase you're not feeling "all the way" in to the camping spirit, they have a country restaurant when you enter the grounds. On our last day, we said fuck it and ate breakfast there. and OH MY GOD, was it ever good! Totally worth checking out for one day! Very very very good! The older couple that runs it is so fuckn nice too! Great ppl.

At first they were weary of us bc there were underagers and the rest were early 20s... but they put us off in a section away from where the "families" were camping... which was GREAT, since we got to go absoutley insane and be as loud as we wanted to! Heheheh, we always end up getting extraordinarily drunk, smoke alot of weed and drop alot of mushrooms... hehe, we even busted out firecrackers...

When we called to book there again a 2nd year, they were at fist skeptical of us when they got our details and they told us this was a "family campground"... but then we told them who we were (they remembered us) we had no problems and got a site again. The key was just showing respect, we cleaned up our site properly and were respectfull always in dealing w/ them.

So, I hope yall get a site... we had alot of fun... there is alot of bush when you're drunk you can go on walks thru in the dark and really trip yourself out with! LOL... oh gawd did we ever get hammered while we were there!

Do any of these places actually allow you to set up camp on the beach? Anyone know of such a place?

definetely NO! There are no parks that allow you to have a tent on the beach! Doesn't matter if it is a provincial or private park!
