As surfrgal said, a few years ago Dave Seaman seemed to be well known, at least around here. When his name would come, quite a bit of hype and could pack clubs that were rather difficult to pack. Last time I saw him here before last night was on a Wednesday night in late 2003 and the place was jammin...since then, though, his US touring seems to have slowed down quite a bit and thus not many people mentioning him. When it was learned he would be coming back, even on a weekend, didn't seem to have the love he had before.
With that, I saw Dave and Luke Chable here in San Francisco last night, and had an awesome time.
With Luke, I've heard a mixed bag about his sets and especially his mixing, but last night...well, he was awesome. His was playing kick ass track after kick ass track and didn't appear to have any major issues on the mixing front. I was shocked...in a very good way. I left impressed with him and can't wait to hear what he brings in the future. He's on the right path to stardom as a DJ, IMO.
The first hour of Dave's set was a bit too bland for me, but after the first hour he cranked everything up and got into form and rocked the place hardcore. The rest of his set was just total ownage. Loved it.
Hope they both get back here sooner rather than later.
Dave
