Well controlling masses can be easy with the right strategy.
He comes from the country that is probably one of 2-3 most influental when it comes to big parties and names, and he was hyped as #1 DJ there, and by word of mouth that quickly spread wherever he went. And yes he played well then, well enough to satisfy huge crowds he played for. Once that wore off, they started him doing special events that may not have much to do with trance being underground but huge promotions.
And although he's a big trance star, so to speak, this scene is small in comparison to other genres.
For example where I live non clubbing people never heard of him.
He's a star in Holland and UK, and in trance community.
What I'm trying to say he may be big, but it's all within our community, so I wouldn't worry with him being over the top.
So if you're a Tiesto fan that's cool with me basicly.
I think people should be more tolerating to other people's tastes.
