how GOOD are your collections? do you have live sets cuttoff in the middl, singles cut out of mixes, crappy quality mp3s, duplicates, misnamed songs and stuff?
I used to, a lot of my mp3 CDs are disgraceful.
but the 7GB I have now is pure gold, every mix is complete, every single is the full vinyl version, they all have complete intros and outros. most of my stuff is 192k, and nothing is less than 128.
I delete a song, even if I LOVE it, if it has even the tiniest skip in it, or if it's just low quality recording. plus I'm constantly filtering stuff through, downloading, listening, deleting if it isn't good enough.

i hear ye, man! it's not the quantity, it's the quality! do you people realize how hard it is to filter a liveset??? that would be a 1.5Gb .wav file! By the way, all my files have perfect ID3v1 tags, perfect naming with my own standards/rules, most of the livesets have tracklists in the ID3v2 tags. everything is sorted by alphabet in a separate folder. album tracks have the track number in the name, etc. now, who wants to say i'm not an addict?
22.1Gb total + i think about 25 CD's i haven't ripped into mp3 because I HAVE NO DRIVE SPACE! (20 Gb USB drive (full), 13Gb internal drive with Linux/Windows, so i'm afraid to repartition because i'm afraid to lose 2Gb) i was just looking for a new hdd to expand my collection
3145 tracks total and still downloading
p.s. man, do i love to show off my collection! though many people like Blake613 have many more mp3s, i'm on 56K and my AG info says 6,656.14Mb received, so that's big for me
