Thumbs up Creative Zen NX Xtra!!!

so much better than Ipod!
:P
I have the Creative 30gb ZEN NX Xtra for over 3 yrs (around $400, for that price at that time, it was worth it!), dropped a handful of times with the player in the case of course! *still works awesome* and I still have loads of room left for more music/files ect. I only wanted the player for storage, not too interested in photos, touch wheel and such. Though it would be nice if the player had voice recorder. Yes, the player is bulky and big, but that doesn't bother me much. Plus, I have the option of replacing the battery if it ever goes out on me. Unlike the Ipod, where you have to replace the whole player. Sound quality on the player is exceptional but only if the quality of the MP3 is ideal.

If I was to go to the gym/run than a flash based player is the way to go.

The players that I prefer has to be 5+gb or 20+gb, either an Iriver, Creative Zen or Cowon iAudio M3 (the slimmest player at 20gb!!)

Do some research, read the reviews at eopinions.com, reviews.cnet.com ect. Pretty much, it's your choice which ones you prefer!

WTF! The iPod doesn't use normal batteries? Oh, right, it's proprietary Apple stuff.

I'm trying out a Creative Muvo N200 512 MB flashram player that a friend just bought. It's $170 and there is an aprox $20 rebate. Has digital FM tuner. It's really tiny and my friend will use it with its armband strap while biking & running.

Volume is just enough - it goes to 40 on the dial and I usually run it at 35 (on big Sennheiser headphones). Sound quality is good but it doesn't sound as clean as a good computer sound card. There are a lot of EQ settings. I'd like to try an iPod to see if they sound any better.

I have one and it's great. Think....1 GB = 100 songs...so....I can see how you can bored if you're stuck in a hospital, but for everyday use, it's great. I bring it with me whenever I go out of town or whatever. Small, great sound!

I have lots of CDs, but I'm kinda leaning towards the Flash-based MP3 players instead of the hard-drive MP3 players. Gotta love the tiny sizes of them flash MP3 players! The CD/MP3 players seem kinda big and bulky now.

yeah i highly recommend NOT going for CD/MP3. I bought one when the iPods first came out and organizing and burning 700MB at a time and worrying about media, rewritables, cd storage was a serious waste of time. the size of the unit did make it less portable-friendly.

i was thinking of a flash, but i couldn't justify the price difference between an iPod mini and a 1GB flash... the iPod shuffle was cheaper than most flash drives and it was about 50 bucks off from a mini... the extra storage has been a time saver too (less time organizing mp3s).

but if you need the size for jogging or working out, go for it. i found that my mini was too bulky to pocket at the gym and i wasn't too much into the armband smacking into the weights. the mini is the perfect size for anything else, just not physical exercise... and you can put your WEED in there!

ok.. not really.
