I meant as a DJ. If you look at his production history, he's made everything from House on [USA IMPORT] to Gabber/Hardcore on [ZOMBIE]. M.I.K.E.'s also produced all kinds of music, in a range of style as follows: Electro, progressive house, trance to subliminal minimalist industrial and techno. And as a side note for you techno freaks, M.I.K.E.'s actually co-written songs with Adam Beyer and Marco Bailey. Pretty impressive, huh? (He is also working heavily with Dimtri Andreas at the moment--remixer of "Naranja," who will be remixing his forthcoming track, "Fuego Caliente" (An EPIC Tech-House/Proggish Trance-Esque fusion.)) Also, MIKE has an RNB production under his belt, under the alias Diabokua. Just goes to show one how eclectic this man can be. What I learn from him: Style of music you play doesn't matter, it's how effectively one presents it to audiences what counts. Because at the end of the day, music is music!

M.I.K.E. is Mike Dierickx. Formerly known as Dirk Dierickx…
He lives in Belgium around the area of Antwerp.
In 2000 he decided to change his real name from Dirk to Mike.
Mike quotes: "When I started to dj at the age of 16, i used the name Dj Mike as my artist name…later on it changed into my producers name M.I.K.E., and that's why I decided to make it my real name…"

He produces under the name M.I.K.E. , and also started to DJ under this alias. M.I.K.E is releasing records under the guises; Solar Factor, M.I.K.E, The Blackmaster, Return Of The Native, Plastic Boy …and last but not least, Push.
As a dj,Mike’s style is very similar to the music he makes, techy- edged on a progressive trance tip. M.I.K.E is at the forefront of Europe's new sound, regularly topping charts in several leading countries.
The story began when an 11 year old boy discovered the potential of samplers and keyboards...
A kid who preferred knobs and backlight displays instead of playing in kindergardens.
At the age of 18, Mike handed his first demo tape to the Antwerp based record company, 'USA Import'. Shortly after, his first record, 'Vision Act' was released on the Atom label in 1992. Mike released a series of successful records before he signed up with Lightning back in 1996.

Hmm.. I'm not quite sure why you want to argue with me. There's no need for defensiveness. I simply state the facts I know. I also mentioned that as a DJ he plays a variety of music. Just because you don't have a "clue" doesn't justify your opinion one bit. Those other styles I've mentioned he's created were made under different aliases. And when did I ever say he plays RNB or Gabber at venues? Many of those guises were created solely as personal or side projects, never to become major successes. And apart from yourself, I don't simply copy and paste information off databases, I'm rather close and follow-up on MIKE's production and DJing activities quite regularly. I normally wouldn't respond to a post filled with such ignorant filth, but I can't allow myself to let you spread incorrect facts to people.

And as a pointer, Michael, I'm a REGULAR forum member on M.I.K.E.'s board, and I know tons of fans who can easily refute your analysis as well. But I do agree, my rhetoric was a little dichotomous and misleading, but let me clarify my opposition: As a producer, yes, the M.I.K.E.-guise is rather trancey with it's fair share of electro and progressive influences.. but M.I.K.E. as a DJ has a very unique and eclectic sound, which in my opinion, knows no bounds...

Uniqueness is what makes any good DJ and producer a marketable success. I'm certain, while referring back to the original statement about what one could consider M.I.K.E's repertoire, that the larger majority of members in this posting section would consider M.I.K.E a trance artist above all.

Just the same when I think of Jim Carey or Richard Prior I think comedy, although both actors have done strict drama as well.
