Hey - I'm not pointing out dislike or like. Only facts (and thanks to Digi - trends).

There is no W in Sierra Leone.

LOL, what is this, you take the two words from my post that suit your argument out of context and ignore the rest?

Once again RJ, figures don't lie but liars can figure. If Firefox had 3 bugs this month instead of 2, and Internet Explorer had 90 instead of 100, that would support your "trend" assertion. Trends are good for stocks - they mean nothing for computer security.

Since you're taking your statistics from secunia, let's all have a careful look at their disclaimer:

quote:
Please Note. The statistics below should not be used for a direct comparison of how secure two different products are. This is partly due to the fact that a Secunia advisory often cover multiple vulnerabilities. Also certain operating systems bundle a very large number of software packages and are therefore affected by many vulnerabilities that would be counted as a vulnerability in stand alone products for other operating systems / platforms. Other factors such as vendor response times and ability to properly fix vulnerabilities is also important.

They mention vendor response times - for Firefox, 13% of the 24 advisories are unpatched. That's 3, and one is just a phishing scam and another is scripting-related. For Internet Explorer, 29% of the 86 advisories are unpatched.

According to their taglines:
quote:
Mozilla Firefox 1.x with all vendor patches installed and all vendor workarounds applied, is currently affected by one or more Secunia advisories rated Less critical

quote:
Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.x with all vendor patches installed and all vendor workarounds applied, is currently affected by one or more Secunia advisories rated Highly critical

How much further do you want to take this absurd argument?

There's a hair on the lens in the 5th image. That is completely unacceptable.
