don't get me wrong... sasha OBVIOUSLY has a strong following... but from a club owner's perspective, i'd rather have oakey/avb/armada crew on the roster than just one dj... chances are all 10 weeks/nights will be packed due to line up...
mileage may vary |
and sasha wouldnt?

he's washed up, yeah, but i just want to see him play. ive never been to one of his shows, but i worshippppppppppppppp his world tour sets. and besides, creamfields was pretty damn good. his Orange hours set a few weeks back was pretty good too. i think if he gives a shit, he can still do good, just not at the same caliber of his glory days.
edit : even then, though, his skills came down to track selection and access to uber rare records, ones only he had. CIP : Essential mix from china. |
Agreed. That's if he gives a shit. I'd much rather see Sasha than Oakey; I saw Oakey in early April, and the locals were much better than the two-hours of "Boots-tumbling-in-a-dryer-I-played-the-same-song-twice-and-literally-sat-around-and-98%-of-the-people-there-ate-it-up."

You guys are all very clueless
#1 Sasha is exclusive to Space and occasionally plays at Pacha.
same goes with all of your beloved prog guys. Clubs expect guys to be exclusive to them. I think they probably even sign contracts stating such,
#2 I went to Amnesia last year, and Armada nights had 3 DJs on their nights, someone opening, Armin and then someone closing. From the lineup I saw this year, they are only doing 2 DJs per night. I guess to give the DJs more time. It sucked, because Amnesia closed at 5am, and all the major clubs in Ibiza dont get busy until after 1am.
You guys can spit out all the nerdy top prog DJs and lineups all you want. Bottom line you will be sitting behind your computors all summer while the rest of us will be bumpin with hot girls in bikinis in Ibiza and at Amnesia. Armin, Markus and Oakenfold will be SICK!!! This will draw tons of chicks no doubt!

Well I think it's just business decision.
Last year Armada Nights didn't fill Amnesia as Cream for example,
and they wanted to change that this year I guess, we'll see how
it works out.
