You should travel around the Commonwealth a little bit there mate. well come on now...don't be an obtuse Irishman. Players like Rooney, Beckham, etc are marketed more in neutral markets, etc.

Anyway, England players might not be as flashy as Brazilians...but they're sure more likable. Who can honestly like horse face?

And the reason Asia supports England is thanks to Sheff Utd signing Ho Hi Dong (or whatever his name is!) who is the most famous Chinese player ever (not that he's ever played a game for us like!!)

To be fair you'd be hard pressed to find a team in the world right now who are better than England (on paper anyway)

On paper England should be one of the best teams in the world but I'm not sure we have the strength in depth of some of the other big teams. I'd say in central defence we are spoilt for choice, with the likes of Woodgate, Terry, Ferdinand and Campbell fighting for two places, not to mention players like Carragher, Brown and King who can't even get near the first team.

Paul Robinson and Joe Cole look like solving our weaker spots in Goal and Left midfield but we have no real backup. Downing is a decent left winger but nowhere near world class, while Wright-Phillips or Dyer could do a job on the left wing. After Gary Neville we don't really have any cover at right back either.

So basically in three positions (Goal, left midfield and right back) we would be short if we got injuries, but everywhere else I think we have good cover.

Yeah, the team looks great on paper (although I'd pick the Brazilians over them), it's just that the team seems to lack the resilience to succeed in major tournaments. They always seem to bottle it...
