I learned on a Gemini PS-626 and while i got it for next to nothing, channels started to go in and out and the crossfader pretty much decided to stop working. The saying "you get what you pay for" is extremely true with mixers.
I have 2 Vestax mixers and pioneer and I'd say the Vestax takes the best beating out of anything. You could practially drop it off a building and it'd still be able fade nicely to each channel.
But a big +1 on being happy with it. Use it and learn on it if it brakes, just remember that at least you didn't pay $1000.00 for it.
