Liars tend to be confrontational avoiders or have low self esteem.

So they either lie to avoid a conflict or lie because they don't feel as though they are good enough and they need to expand on the truth to appear more popular, skilled, successful or talented.

The best way to deal with these types of liars is be kind to them.

Firstly in the instance of the conflict avoider you need to help them deal with what is almost a type of shyness. Do some research.

Secondly in the case of the stretcher of the truth you need to nicely say "look I know that you are going overboard there you have no need to exaggerate you are great as you are".
