try not sleeping for like 4 days..force yourself not to sleep and work out every day. then donate blood. and drink a bottle of wine. in that order. you'll be asleep in no time.

seriously though, i get that problem all the time. end up staying up til 1 or 2 at the earliest. sucks. i have a small fan (not the silent variety) for white noise which blocks out all the background noise. no radio/tv at night though cause it'll keep your mind working. try ocean sounds or brainwave music too, they work for me (but mostly cause i grew up near the ocean). and if you wear glasses, read a boring and complex book in bed when you're trying to fall asleep but not with your glasses on. the strain will make your brain want to shut down and sleep.

oh, and stay off the CORe when you're trying to get sleep. :P

make sure you finish any workout a couple hours before sleep too cause otherwise you'll be too worked up to sleep.

and why the hell do you pee so much at night?? that can't be helping with the sleep continuity.

smoke a j at night...

or take some sleep enhancing pills...try melatonin if u aren't keen on tylenol pm or the stronger stuff...ur body naturally produces it, so it's pretty safe. it won't give you that groggy feeling in the morning.

this is really good advice. Staring at a computer screen before sleep makes your brain go nuts. Your eyes get wired open etc...

no computer 1 hour before you sleep no eating 4 hours before you sleep. You should be able to pass out pretty well...

also the activity thing was excellent, tire yourself out during the day. If you eat fruit in the morning it wakes you up, and if you just kind of burn through the day night should be pretty laid back.

i noticed that happening to me when i used to work out all the time (just got back into it this week). i'd be so antsy at night in bed cuz i was working out kinda late in the night like around 9. but now i make sure i work out between 6-8 and then i come home and take a nice hot shower and relax. i smoke a j if i have any weed...weed definitely helps me with my appetite and sleeping, otherwise i wouldn't really smoke it. i never smoke before i go anywhere...i hate being stoned in public. weed is good for just CHILLIN.

Be careful though. I went through a phase of working out LOADS, but uncontrollably fell asleep on the couch as soon as I sat down at home. That just make it even harder for me to get to sleep at night.

You need to find what works for you. For some it's physical activity, for others having a nice joint (not me - I can't inhale for shit). For me, I dram of malt whisky works wonders.

But I really believe that some people are just natural night birds - I personally come alive at around 11pm. I try to make the most of it -most of my best ideas and brainwaves come around that time of night.

Do you do anything else in your bed, like watching TV? You should never use your bed for anything but sleeping, so as to condition your brain to associate it with sleep, and only sleep.

aaaah glad to hear you got some sleep.
Well you may have a thyroid problem, those are getting very common these days. Go to the doc and get some blood tests just to be sure.

Now off to the beach I go

You can get fucking wasted on Ambien from what I've read.

My doctor gave me a scrip for Sonata. It's a hypnotic that's short acting. So if you wake up in the night it's not gonna help much. But if you just have trouble falling asleep then it'll help. Ask about it.

Just recently, actually it was just yesterday, I went to bed at about 1am. Three hours of sleep and my allergies started to act up. I spent the rest of the night watching Sportscenter and a couple of those Girls Gone Wild informercials. Went back to bed at about twenty after seven and slept till about noon time
zzzzzz.
