yes, tom cruise took control of the interview like a crazy man, but when matt would try to bring up a valid point, tom cruise would just shush him, and say either 'i'm just living my life' or 'i know the history of psychology, matt, YOU DONT'

he was there with such an attitude of superiority and arrogance that he wouldn't even argue the point because in his mind, there was no argument and he was 100% right. now that doesn't sound so intelligent to me...i definitely have my own opinions, but i think i usually try to listen to both sides of it and then build my argument accordingly...but Tom just didn't want to hear it because obviously he is the smartest man in the world

tom is so stupid honeslty all that $ and attention he gets for being "sexy" has gone to his head he seriously believes he is superior compare to psychiatrist and other scientists ppl who worked hard in their fields and know a lot more than tom criuse.

Agreed. I would have definitely found other means of displaying my argument. But then, it's so refreshing to find someone some so passionate about something. I'm not use to seeing others express their views so strongly, so maybe when I finally do see these things (sad that it has to be on TV) they are really just minute? Ok, now, he did seem like to have a bit of a Napolean complex.




I do agree with his thinking. I had to write a paper in Sociology and i researched all these drugs names, made a 2 page list, from Oxy, Valium, Paxil, Prozac, Rit, Perk etc. on and on and then boldly stated, "America's new gumdrop." I think our mentality as Americans is, "I don't feel chirpy, happy (as society expects me to be), something MUST be wrong." in which we procede to the pharmacy in hopes that a pill will compensate. Cos damnit, if we aren't laughing out asses off, smiling, flirting, flipping our hair as we see on the latest episode of Friends, we are in a state of mild depression; which increasingly to me seems like the new common cold.

I don't know. I'm torn. I can see validity in both sides. I remember H.S. friends snorting Ritalin for a high, while someone all too close to me was taking it deter hyperactivity. If it works for that person of the latter in terms of coping, it IS valid, isn't it? I don't know.


Edit* I would love to further research aspects of Scientology, but with spokemen such as Tom Cruise, John Travolta, Katie Holmes? hahaah. Seems like a bit of a marketing technique to me. I've yet to see ONE, working member of the common middle class speak of this psuedo-science.
