The competitive online PC First Person Shooters in genereal have been getting alot more success then they deserve I think. The challenge of those games seems to be more about who can tweak their computer the best than who can actually play the best.

I used to like my shooters so much more until I started meeting people who were good at them. Every single one of those kids had no special talent for shooting things, they just had all the distracting scenery turned off and the contrast all the way up so they could see their opponents better than the normal players. They also just happened to have brand new computers and giant screens.

Competitve shooters online are nothing more then a computer tweaking contest. They all get as close to cheating as they can without actually breaking the rules, you look at the kids who have the best scores and the overwhelming majority have these heavily tweaked machines. It takes the fun out of the game for people who just want to play instead of spending hours researching on alterations one can do in order to gain an edge in the online competition. There are alot of online games that make the tweeking battle a non issue, but these aren't FPS.

I am starting to think that the console gamers might be on to something with their online play. It gets rid of the whole PC tweaking contests by putting evereyone at an even level, so that the competition can revolve around the game again instead of who has the best computer.

If I had lotsa monay I think I would be playing unreal championship on teh xbox, I love UT2K4 so much but it sux online because I like to play the game with the graphics turned on and without the fullbright skins and all that garbage.

even tho i like it gran turismo 4 is quite over-rated. each new game in the series hs failed to fix some pretty glaring errors, first one being the actully terrible computer ai. i believe it ws better in the first game.

the game seems at times to be GT 1.4
there hs been no serious evolution.

i was so dissapointed with 'brothers in arms', i thought it would beat call of duty, but i found it stale and shitty.. alright, it was a lot more realistic than call of duty, but no way as good. it received damn good reviews, but i just can't seem to find what's good about it.

also, counterstrike. everyone around here in my town plays it, the 12-16 year-olds mostly, but it's too boring. i first played it when it got out, and it was fun for a few years, but then got too repetitive and boring , but everyone keeps praising it.

also.. why haven't everyone went on to counter strike source (hl2 motor instead of the old hf1 motor)? i know it's because the CPL stuff (world-tours) haven't switched to the newer game, but why is that? personally i think it's better, but i haven't been involved with the cs movement for some years.

I remember playing Halo and thinking it was overrated so, I never finished it. Then, I decided to give it another shot and it was great especially if you play it on legendary.

Well the most overrated game for me was Half Life, I actually thought Opposing Force was alot better. Half Life 2 did kick ass though.

Halo was pretty good, but Halo 2 was way over-rated
