The first time I went to a "dance" club I saw a bunch of kids on various drugs, holding lunch pails, purple/blue/etc hair, wearing 3 foot high shoes and pants big enough for 4 people. And a bunch of male meatheads with no shirts on, and a few of them performing oral sex on each other. weird.

heheh soo not my scene. Thank god I haven't seen a whole lotta that anymore, or I woulda kept my ass in a hip hop club and suffered through many more years of rap music.

I didnt really think that much about clubbers and drugs before i started going. my first dance club that i went to was when i was 18-19 and it was 1997. i went to expo and it was thanksgiving eve. it was sooooo cheesy, but i remember really liking the energy that was there. i never really thought about them being a bunch of drug users, b/c drug users are everywhere, why narrow it down to a group of clubbers? you could walk in any american high school and find more drug users than in a club....it is all stereotypes and people really need to let go of stereotypes.

that being said i started to really get into clubs and trance more when i saw pvd at exit, then at roxy that following novemebr (2002) and i was hooked when he played arc...

I heard storys of the tunnel (pre 98') that people were getting stabbed with syringes and being infected with aids. Now im not saying that this never happened but I never saw it myslef. My first experiance in nyc club scene was tunnel 1998. It was there anual winter rave.

word. I hate the EDM scene sterotypes...and I hate all the shit that the US and Canadian Governments are doing to take down dance clubs...ridiculous.

Trancer-X: It WAS traumatic.....my bf at the time was like "You actually LIKE this shit?" Good thing I tried it out a few more times (PS: are you Jamaican??)

I really didnt think much of clubs before I started going to them. I knew about them, and knew of the stereotype things that went on within them, but I never had an opinion of my own. The VERY first time I went to a club it was Soundfactory, June 2001, for my prom. What I saw was rather disturbing and kinda turned me off from going again, a bunch of sluts (which isnt such a bad thing), a bunch of meatheads, people fucking on the second floor, and people doing all sorts of shit in the bathroom on the third floor - so yea, I wasnt too fond of my first experience.

My second experience was much better though, June 2003 @ Arc... I had the time of my life, it was the first time I met the TA's, my first time of many more to come after of closing out a night, also my first time going to an afterparty at the loft, with special guests Gabriel & Dresden.

What Ive learned, there will always be crackies, meatheads, whores, you just have to learn to accept them and avoid the places that the majority of them congregate.

I really didn't think anything about them because at the time I didn't know it existed untill i went to this little shit hole club in Pittsburgh called Metropol. Used to listen to no-name house djs. Then in 98 I went to this party called Zoolu Fest in New Orleans....this huge rave during Mardi Gras...The venue was a huge opera house that held about 15,000 people...they had a full lazer show and light show. The party was so fucking sick!!! It was DJ Micro and X-dream that turned me onto trance. They really suck now but back then, to me, they were amazing. Then in 99 I went to the rave in Atlanta at the Trade Center and It was Rabbit in the Moon, Sasha and Digweed. About 10,000 people there easily. Sasha and Digweed blew me the fuck away....I couldn't believe how sick they were....that's what brought me on to "good" trance and progresive. That's when I started clubbing.

And while one day viciously throwing down on his box Jack boldly declared "Let there be house!" And house music was born. I am the creator and this is my house and in my house there is only house music. But I am not so selfish because once you enter my house it then becomes our house and our house music and you see no one man owns house because house music is a universal language spoke and understood by all. You see, house is a feeling that no one can understand really unless you're deep into the vibe of house. House is an uncontrollable desire to jack your body and as I told you before this is our house and our house music. In every house you understand, there is a keeper and in this house the keeper is Jack.
