I've got a Waldorf Q kb and a Waldorf Microwave XT, among 5 others...i guess the olny synth I might consider is a Virus C.

I'd kinda like to say a Virus just to see what all the fuss is about... but everyone has them... so might aswell break the trend ...

Waldorf MicroQ - I already have one of these and its a very versatile synth. Can do VA aswell as limited wavetable synthesis. Fully programmable arpeggiator too... w00t! I would prefer the full rack version for the knobs, but it does alright with sortware editors.

Nord Modular G2 - can pretty much build what you want with this baby... plus it sounds like a nord... *drool*

Hartmann Neuron - Top of the physical modelling synths so would be able to do all the stuff the other two wouldnt. Plus its programming layout just looks friggin wierd... silver, shaper, blender... wtf???

I am with Subtle...those are the three ones that I want to have before I die. Now, I could have them but until I have time to produce, I am not going to purchase none of the, I don't even use my hardware synths anymore...VSTis sound good enough for me to go to the trouble of recording, thw wire mess, bla bla bla. But yeah, SN2, even though I have a Nova and they sound the same, but the SN2 has more polyphony, has FM and other tricks under the sleeve.

For trance music vst's are fine but when it comes to heavy electronica drum and bass etc real analog sounds better.

All this time i didnt have a real synth and i couldnt produce the music i wanted to.Now im able to get huge analog sounds that rip the speakers to shit i love it.

I will never go back to software again.

Maybe for small things like strings or such but not for my leads and stabs and drums.

Well, that sound better part is an opinion and not a fact. It's what you like. I have heard soft-based music and I cannot tell the difference. Anyway, it's not like hardware is the opposite of software...I don't think they are parallel like most people paint them.
