I'm quite a big cheese-connaisseur if you ask me... "F***ing Baby Boomers" - what a tune!
Here's a sum-up of what I think (and like) about the Belgian cheese-scene:
Ian Van Dahl is not too bad I think... I quite liked the instrumental version of 'Castles In The Sky'. Peter Luts remixes of these tunes are always a bit more trancy.
Lasgo also had a big hit with 'Something'. I didn't really care about the follow-ups, as with alot of commercial projects they were a cheap spin-off from this one.
Astroline had many more with 'Take Good Care Of Me', 'Feel The Fire (Absolom Full On Trance Mix)'. Wasn't really 100% cheese in the beginning though as these were nice clubhits.
Absolom had huge hits with 'Secret' (I love this vocal mix, such nice vocals... Armin, eat your heart out), 'Baby Boomers' (jeehah!) and a very nice trancer 'The Air (Prophecy Mix)' and 'The Air (Trance Mix)'.
Milk Inc. we all now and have always continued to produce some nice eurodance. My real favs lie a long time ago though, with 'La Vache', 'Free You Mind' and others. Has had alot of 'singers' through the years, guess our Linda is here to stay though
The Mackenzie feat. Jessy have had some true classics such as 'Innocence' (hands in the air everyone!) and some others. Also wasn't cheese in the beginning, things got started when Jessy joined the club.
Fiocco went cheesy after some great classics such as 'Afflitto' (they can spin this one any day for me) and others. Though the follow-ups were all pretty much based on the sound of this great track, only with some cheesy vocals added; e.g. 'Keep The Spirit Alive'.
Anneke Van Hooff recently had a pretty nice hit with 'Lie To Me'. Not a big fan of it, but I think she has a cute voice. It'll probably be the only thing we ever hear of her and as always Regi Penxten has produced the track.
It's quite a big list (and probably goes on even further)... Probably it's all cheesy in some way, but you gotta admit - Belgium's damn good at it
